As an extension to Casa's existing support of community preschools in the town of Niquihomo, the preschool teachers were included in the Casa's general community preschool professional development initiative.

In the initial stages, twice month, up to 6 teachers from Niquinohomo would make the trip to Managua to join the other teachers in the workshops.

As the project was modified, these teachers were supported with stipends for travel and materials to complete a certificate at the local teachers college in Jinotepe.

Over disagreements on conditions of participation, Casa withdrew from this project in mid 2007.
